Black holes.
Because my kitty wants them. And I enjoy these things. Finals are up next week so I'm indulging myself before I get immersed in Hell.

Quicktime short movie type thing.

Black holes are actually scary. I don't know why, but the idea of getting sucked up, crushed to bits, and suffering a life of eternal darkness are just some of the things that I find disturbing. I also had this scare once when I was a wee girl that some star would explode and suck up the solar system. For such a huge ball of fire that gives skin cancer, the sun is such a wuss compared to other stars. The good thing about that, of course, is that it wouldn't be a black hole.

So yes. I wasn't afraid of monsters under the bed when I was a kid. I was afraid of judgment day (okay, still afraid of that now) and black holes. Sometimes I also thought of the sun getting old, expanding into a red star, eating up Mercury and Venus and just plain burning Earth.

Now who says imagination is a good thing?

I know it looks weird and the black hole seems as bit bright, but it's actually small that you don't see the black hole itself. The bright light is actually the light that surrounds the black hole (and will eventually get eaten). The line of light that seems to be coming out of the bright disc is what are called "the lucky ones" who didn't get sucked up. Yet, I think.

I'm not sure if this is a real picture. More like a painting to me or something because a black hole just cannot be taken this nicely.

I'm quite sure this isn't real. Still scares me, nevertheless. It's like seeing God angry, but that's another topic for a later date.
